-9^x is a vertical flip (reflection) of 9^x about the x-axis.

-9^(-x) takes the previous and flips it horizontally about the y-axis.

(-1,1/9) -> (1, -1/9),  (0, 1) -> (0, -1), and (1, 9) -> (-1, -9)

For the graphing tool, the base is 9, there's a reflection about the x- axis and about the y-axis.  The basic shape is the exponential growth shDomain is (-infinity, infinity).

The range is (-infinity, 0)
